Here is the 5th tune from Dub Meditations.
This one is probably the most ambient and minimal so far.
Minimal changes, notes, instruments, melodies. Spaciousness.
I observe an inverse relationship with regards to the complexity of music composition and how well it works for extended durations of repetition.
Repetitive, rhythmic music seems to require more subtle variations on longer cycles. I recently performed this one tune for 53 continuous minutes. In a landscape of media designed for ten second consumption and then on to the next, this is my practice and why all of these dubs average 10 minutes or more. My intention is that we slow down our thoughts and calm our over stimulated nervous systems, in dub.
