On the wings of releasing Dub Friendships (it will be live on all music platforms this Fri 6/2), here is Dub 92ॐ, the next MFP LIVE Dub Meditation.
Originating as the dub intro from The Stairs (from MFP LIVE Vol. III), a slower tempo inspired its own original composition.
The lead synth line and its bending notes super remind me of an electric guitar. So, I reached out to my musical brother number one and master guitarist, Tom Finch for some of his inimitable 6 string embellishments, of which he graciously obliged. I then chopped, sequenced, and looped his contributions as integral elements in this live dub performance.
My musical intentions with this and the two previous MFP LIVE releases is for these tunes to be part of a meditative live set and accompanying album. As much as I attempt to keep the music relaxing and calming, I am aware that this still feels/sounds like dancing music.
Well then, may what moves your body, also be what stills your mind.
